CAPE-Alternative School

CAPE Mission Statement

The mission of the Center for Alternative and Progressive Education (CAPE) is to collaborate with local school districts, therapeutic service providers and the Scioto County Juvenile Court to create responsible and empathetic learners by providing a safe and secure learning environment to effectively learn and practice the skills and strategies needed to compete in today’s society academically, socially and emotionally.

Friday, May 20th is the last day of school for the '21-'22 school year!
Cirque d'Art Theatre Silhouette Project
Many of our students helped create the silhouettes that will be displayed in the Cirque d'Art building.
Reality Fair
A big thank you to DESCO for being here today and putting on our Reality Fair. Students spent the last couple of days researching careers, salaries, and taxes. Today, they went through stations looking at monthly expenses and budgeting. Of course, it’s also good when you can end the day with Giovanni’s!
Warrior Wednesdays
Warrior Wednesday’s are when our staff deliver and our students participate in social -emotional lessons that focus on age-appropriate coping skills and self-management skills to promote positive coping skills that they can use in an education setting along with being successful in the community and in life.
