The Scioto County Family and Children First Council hosted an Information Fair on Friday at the New Boston Community Center, for service providers to share free information with other providers.
“All the folks have geared their information toward other social workers,” said Rebecca Wheelersburg, director of Scioto County Family and Children First Council. “A counselor at, for instance Help Me Grow, could come and get information on what it takes to qualify for services.”
Eighteen agencies participated in the fair, including Help Me Grow, CRADLE, the American Red Cross, Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Scioto County Head Start, WIC, Area Agency on Aging, ADHAMS Board, Scioto County Children’s Services, and more.
“This is really so we get good referrals, and we’re not sending families to five different places. Case managers have enough information to make the right referral,” Wheelersburg said.
