To be "visually literate" means being able to gain meaning from what we see and being able to communicate meaning to others through the images we create. Each year Scioto County high schools along with Oak Hill High School are invited to submit up to 15 works of art for judging to become part of the Visually Literate High School Art Show.
Through the judging process the 50 top pieces of art are chosen to be included in this very selective show. Plans are in place for the show to be on exhibit from May 3 through May 16, 2023 in the Appleton Gallery at Shawnee State University. A Closing Reception is planned for May 16, 2023 in the Fine Arts Center at Shawnee State University starting at 5:30 p.m., with the Awards Ceremony beginning at 6:00 p.m.
