Low Incidence/Specialized Classrooms
Our Low Incidence classrooms are designed to support the needs of students in the public school setting who experience moderate to intensive disabilities, including a classroom with a concentration in hearing impairment.
Students, ages 5-21, are supported by teams of highly-qualified ESC professionals (Intervention Specialists, Related Service Providers, Para-Professionals). The program ensures a safe, structured classroom environment, access to academic content standards, high-quality, specially designed instruction, and inclusion opportunities with appropriate supports. We also provide community-based instruction to develop the social, independent living, and employability skills of our students through trips outside the classroom.
The SCOESC operates behavior classrooms designed to support the needs of students, ages 5-21, in the public school setting who experience significant emotional and behavioral challenges which impede their learning.

The Low Incidence program promotes and facilitates student access to the general education environment through a blend of educational and behavioral strategies and is designed to meet students' social, emotional, and academic needs.

The South Central Ohio Educational Service Center works collaboratively with area school districts to offer Special Education Services to students with special needs. Teams of professionals work alongside students and families to develop individualized education plans that will lead to student-centered learning and independence.
The SCOESC currently operates over 30 specialized programs throughout the county.
